What is Passion Project?
Passion Project is a dynamic event that brings Hobbyists, young professionals, and local creatives together to celebrate their passions, whether pursued for fun or full-time. It’s a space designed for networking, collaboration, and building connections. The evening will feature a live DJ mix of local music, fostering a sense of community and creativity.
Why is Passion Project important to AVRA?
At AVRA, we believe in uplifting and connecting local creatives. Passion Project embodies our mission to provide sustainable platforms for individuals to showcase their talents and build meaningful relationships. Whether it’s music, art, or any personal passion, this event is our way of celebrating and investing in Milwaukee’s creative scene.
What’s the deal with the live recording?
Passion Project will host the live recording of Grooves of The Heartland (GOTH) Episode 2, AVRA’s music initiative to archive and spotlight local talent. This DJ mix will feature sounds from Milwaukee-based artists, creating an immersive, collaborative experience. Attendees may appear in footage for marketing and the final episode—so bring your energy and your groove!
What about local music? How can I submit?
We’re calling all Milwaukee musicians to submit original tracks for this project! Whether you’re a producer, singer, or songwriter, we want to hear your sound. Tracks not included in this episode of GOTH will be kept in mind for future AVRA projects, so this is your chance to get involved. Submit your music via the link above or email your tracks to createavra@gmail.com, with subject line “Grooves of The Heartland Submission.”
Will AVRA profit from you music?
AVRA will not profit from the use of your music. Our goal is to gather fully licensed tracks to press into our Grooves Of The Heartland mixtape (or vinyl). These initiatives are designed to foster creativity and collaboration within the community while remaining free and inclusive.
Artists will always receive full credit for their work, ensuring proper recognition and exposure. This effort is part of Hobbyists, our platform for connecting and uplifting local artists, creatives, and young professionals.
What is the theme of the event?
The theme is all about creating a warm, hearty, “home” feeling—like being back in the garage. It’s a space that brings the outside in, reflecting how we often carry our Northside personalities into other parts of the city. It’s a call to bring your full, authentic self into this creative space and celebrate our collective identities while connecting with others who share your passions.
Come ready to enjoy an evening of connection, creativity, and groove as we honor Milwaukee’s vibrant talent and culture. We can’t wait to see you there!
